John H. Ovington
President/Principal

As a seasoned real estate developer with over 30 years of experience in all facets of the development process, Mr. Ovington formed TBO Development Company in 1998 in Birmingham, Michigan. John began his career in commercial real estate in 1987 as an intern for the Leo Eisenberg Company in St. Louis, Missouri, while completing his education at St. Louis University. Upon graduating in 1989 with a B.S. Accounting degree, Mr. Ovington continued his career at Eisenberg, learning the real estate business from the ground up.

Mr. Ovington went on to become Vice President at Midland Development Group, taking on the responsibilities of Midlands Kroger anchored developments throughout the State of Michigan until the company was sold to Regency Realty Corporation. John became Development Director for Regency and in 1996 was asked to relocate to Michigan, where he was born and raised, to open and manage Regency’s Michigan office. One year later, Mr. Ovington left Regency and formed TBO Development Company where he has developed numerous projects, which include major retail tenants such as Kroger, Wal-Mart, Lowe’s, Meijer and Aldi.

John earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from St. Louis University, is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Michigan, a Member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and serves as a board member for several local charitable organizations.
